The First-tier Tribunal and Upper Tribunal (Chambers) Order 2010

This Order contains the assignment of functions to venues, in relation to new appeal rights regarding MPs expenses to the First-Tier Tribunal Chamber. New provisions are also provided about allocating new matters to a particular Chamber of the Upper Tribunal.

The Upper Tribunal is organised into Chambers, including the Administrative Appeals Chamber. This Chamber has the power to deal with a variety of appeals including against decisions of Pension Appeal Tribunals, Mental Health Tribunals and the First-Tier Tribunal. The Chamber is also given authority to address applications pursuant to the Upper Tribunal’s ‘judicial review’ jurisdiction in accordance with section 15(1) of the Tribunals, Courts and Enforcement Act 2007.
