Public law in the Supreme Court this term

The term card for the Supreme Court includes cases of some importance to public law practitioners. In particular, Secretary of State for Work and Pensions v Payne and Cooper will have an impact on social welfare law. The case concerns the legality of making deductions from the benefits of those who also have Debt Relief Orders. The Department for Work and Pensions will be hoping to overturn two adverse judgments to allow their practice to continue.
