Adult Social Care Reform
On 11 July 2012 the Government issued a response to the Law Commission's recommendations for the reform of the legal framework of adult social care together with a draft ‘Care and Support Bill' which substantially implements the Law Commission's proposals. If it becomes law, the new Bill will represent the biggest overhaul of the law governing adult care and support for over 60 years. The documents were issued as part of the Government programme on care reform which included the White Paper ‘Caring for Our Future' and its progress report on funding reform.
