Immigration - Detention - Consult - Damages
The failure to consult resulted in part of the Claimant's detention being unlawful. He was only entitled to nominal damages because he could, in any event, have been lawfully detained.

(1) The Claimant, Mr Malek Hossian Abdollahi, had been detained for 26 months between 18 May 2009 and 15 July 2011. He had been detained pursuant to the Immigration Act 1971 prior to being granted bail by the First Tier Tribunal.
