Fee for Intervention

On 1 October 2012, the Health and Safety (Fees) Regulations 2012 came into force. These Regulations place a duty on the HSE to recover from businesses the costs it incurs when undertaking its regulatory functions in circumstances where a business has broken the law. Commonly referred to as ‘Fee for Intervention' (FFI), this is a very significant development and is something that all businesses should be aware of.
