In what may be one of the first contributions to International Family Law by a Judge from a Caribbean jurisdiction, Justice Ramkerrysingh reviews the legal position in Trinidad on same-sex unions, and her own experiences as a Judge and an advocate of dealing with family cases involving same sex relationships.

She considers the current state of the debate in Trinidad and across the Caribbean and its origins and considers where it might lead and, indeed, where it should lead.
