I apologise for the brief moratorium in postings. I have been at the Society of Legal Scholars conference in Cambridge. There were no insolvency papers, but there were one or two company law papers of note, including an excellent paper on the early history of limited liability. Other highlights included a farewell speech from Professor Sir Roy Goode QC who is stepping down from full time insolvency scholarship. There were a number of insolvency scholars at the conference. Apart from your faithful correspondent and Sir Roy, Professor Christopher Symes of Adelaide, Professor Roman Tomasic of Durham and Dr David Capper of Queen's Belfast were also to be found discussing insolvency issues whilst imbibing in the Downing College bar. Professor Symes has recently launched his own blog (co-authored with Professor David Brown) - see here for the BILS blog.
