LSE Insolvency Lectureship

The LSE have advertised an insolvency lectureship which may interest some readers. Here are the details: 

Lectureship/Senior Lectureship in Insolvency Law

London School of Economics and Political Science -Department of Law

Lecturer Salary£40,634- £47,047 per annum inclusive (pay award pending)

Senior Lecturer Salary£48,446 - £56,096 per annum inclusive (pay award pending)

The Department of Law at the London School of Economics was rated as the best law department in the country by the Research Assessment Exercise 2008. To support our undergraduate and postgraduate teaching programmes and to strengthen further our research profile, we are now seeking to appoint to a post in Insolvency Law. We are seeking to make an appointment at Lecturer level, but we are willing to consider appointing at Senior Lecturer level.

The successful candidate will contribute to the scholarship and intellectual life of the School by conducting research which will enhance the School's reputation as a research-led teaching institution. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the teaching of insolvency law, and related areas, at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. All members of the Department's academic staff are expected to contribute to core undergraduate teaching.

To be considered for a Lecturer role, you will need an established publication record including at least one publication since January 2008 that is internationally excellent in terms of originality, rigour and significance. You will also need to have teaching experience at undergraduate, and preferably also at postgraduate level.

To be considered for a Senior Lecturer role, you will need an established publication record including at least four publications since January 2008 that are internationally excellent  in terms of originality, rigour and significance, at least two of which must be world leading. You will also have significant experience and a proven track record of excellence in the teaching of law at undergraduate and postgraduate, together with experience of departmental administration.

Candidates for both positions should have a PhD in law or a closely related subject, or commensurate experience.

Appointments will commence on 1 September 2013 or as soon as possible thereafter.
