BIICL event on cross border insolvency: argie bargie in the offing?

I have mentioned on this blog before Mr Look Chan Ho's critical evaluation of Professor Sir Roy Goode QC's third edition. A forthcoming event at BIICL will see the two commentators come together for a discussion of cross-border insolvency. The event is a must as we may see some really strong differences in opinion. The event takes place on Wednesday 9 November 2011, 17:00-19:00, and is followed by a drinks reception. The event will take place at the British Institute of International and Comparative Law, Charles Clore House, 17 Russell Square, London, WC1B 5JP. The chair and speakers are:

Sir Roy Goode CBE QC, Emeritus Professor in the University of Oxford

Professor Federico Mucciarelli, University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, Italy

Dorothy Livingston, Herbert Smith LLP, London; City of London Law Society

Dr Anne-Catherine Hahn, Baker & McKenzie, Zurich, Switzerland

Look Chan Ho, Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer LLP, London

As the BICCL blurb notes "this event will provide an overview of important issues relating to cross-border insolvencies. Speakers will highlight various topics such as the interrelation of cross-border assignment and insolvency law; the effects of insolvency on international arbitration proceedings; current developments on the recognition in the United Kingdom of judgments entered in foreign insolvency proceedings; the shortcomings of the Insolvency Regulation and potential remedies, including an EU wide harmonisation of bankruptcy laws."
