What to do when a complaint goes to the Legal Ombudsman

The Law Society has issued guidance on what you need to do when a complaint goes to the Legal Ombudsman.

There will be occasions when you are unable to resolve a complaint through your complaints-handling process and the complaint is referred to the Legal Ombudsman. The Ombudsman's service is an independent service which aims to resolve complaints about lawyers.

The Law Society's new practice note aims to provide guidance on the processes used by the Legal Ombudsman and what you can do to try to resolve the complaint once the complaint has been referred.
