FINANCIAL PROVISION: Re S (Unmarried Parents: Financial Provision) [2006] <i>The Times </i> April 17

Judges should not use cases involving large sums of money as benchmark cases, scaling down proportionately, but should consider the welfare of the child in the light of the resources available. It would be an advantage in Children Act 1989, s 15 cases for the child to have separate representation.
