In a very finely balanced case, the judge had been entitled to decide that placement with the maternal grandparents was preferable to placement with the mother. Any possible confusion as to the expert's testimony as to the effect of the mother's obsessive-compulsive disorder had been clarified during cross-examination, and it had been for the judge to decide where the balance fell in a case acknowledged by all the professionals to be on the edge.
