LAA releases guidance on legal aid for victims of domestic violence and abuse
The Legal Aid Agency has released guidance to help victims of domestic violence or child abuse find out whether they are eligible for legal aid.

The guidance sets out the evidence that individuals need to provide in order to show that they or their child:
  • has been at risk or suffered from domestic violence or abuse;
  • meets the relevant scope and eligibility criteria.
There are useful links to:
  • sample letters that a victim of domestic violence or child abuse could use to ask for evidence from the police, courts and other agencies;
  • templates for professionals to use to give proof about individuals using their service and applying for legal aid in a domestic violence or child abuse case.
The domestic abuse or violence page can be accessed here.
