Forced Marriage Nullity Procedure in England and Wales

Anne-Marie Hutchinson OBE and Harriet Hayward, Dawson Cornwell, Solicitors, London and Teertha Gupta, Renaissance Chambers, London. In the year that the Honourable Mrs Justice Bracewell DBE retires, this article illustrates how Her Ladyship has been at the forefront of establishing the procedure in forced marriage nullity cases. The authors have been involved in numerous cases where forced marriage has been alleged. The case-law in this field of work is fast evolving and the number of victims coming forward is on the increase. See March [2006] International Family Law 20 for the full article.
