Every Day Matters and CAFCASS: a Practitioner's View

Alison Paddle, Solicitor, Chair, NAGALRO Council. The Children and Family Court Advisory and Support Service (CAFCASS) consultation on its paper 'Every Day Matters: New Directions for CAFCASS' has just finished and has generated many responses. Its aim has been to set a strategy for future services, to provide early intervention in cases without delays and backlogs, and a continuum of support services. The responses from CAFCASS practitioners identify significant concerns about these proposals for an organisation that is still suffering the consequences of its over-hasty and poorly planned beginnings. See April [2006] Fam Law 323 for the full article.
