Legislation has been passed establishing separate Children's Commissioners for Wales, Northern Ireland, Scotland and England. There are differences in the respective Commissioners' ability to carry out individual case-work and in the role the Commissioners have in relation to implementation of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child 1989 (UNCRC).
