Challenges of the New Adoption Law

Deborah Cullen, Secretary of the Legal Group, British Association for Adoption and Fostering. This article focuses on the new framework for agency adoption placements. The article highlights some of the issues and anxieties currently exercising the minds of practitioners, particularly those advising adoption agencies. The issues and dilemmas considered include those relating to concurrent care and placement order applications, expectations in respect of contact, the adoption hearing and inter-county adoption.
