Family Rights Group conference

The Family Rights Group charity is hosting an international conference with key partners, including 1 Garden Court Family Chambers, bringing together families, key policy makers, academics and practitioners in children's social care, child care law, the youth justice and education fields. The conference, entitled 'Family-centred solutions - changing child welfare policy and practice on the ground', is taking place on the 17-18 September 2008 at The Holiday Inn, Stratford-Upon-Avon, England.

As well as hearing the experiences of service users and practitioners, delegates at the conference will examine the principles and values that under-pin family-centred approaches.

Speakers include:

  • Naomi Eisenstadt, Director of Social Exclusion Unit, UK
  • Professor Ravinder Barn, Royal Holloway, University of London
  • Marie Connelly, Chief Social Worker in the New Zealand Government
