Practitioners advised to give clients new phone number for Relate

Relate, the relationship counselling organisation, is launching a new number to make it easier to get emotional support and practical advice for relationship issues: 0300 100 1234. Professionals working in the family law sector are advised to give the new number to potential clients.

In addition to direct calls to local Relate Centres, Relate receives almost 3000 national calls each month from members of the public. Mobile phone users switching to the new 0300 100 1234 number will benefit from cheaper call rates than Relate's previous 0845 number and everyone will benefit from extended hours of availability.

Relate Manager Jackie Wright said:
"We are now making major steps forward in our service to people seeking help for their relationships. Callers can now reach us seven days a week, including evenings, and speak to a Relate trained consultant. We are putting Relate services in easier reach of the people who need us most and giving them a real choice of how they access that help."

On calling 0300 1000 1234 people can find out about local services; book an appointment; access telephone or online counselling or find out about other agencies that can help them.

Relate services extend beyond couple counselling to family counselling, counselling for young people, online counselling, sex therapy and relationship skills workshops. Relate works in schools, primary care settings, prisons, and with local authorities on homelessness prevention services.
