The Department for Business, Innovation & Skills (BIS) has published an online calculator designed to make it easier for prospective parents to work out their entitlements in respect of leave and pay on the birth of their child.
The calculator takes into account existing maternity and paternity leave rights, and the new shared parental leave scheme, which is relevant where the expected week of childbirth (or the date on which a child is placed for adoption) is on or after 5 April 2015.
VWV have previously reported on the shared parental leave scheme which came in to force on 1 December 2014. We can help you get up to speed with the new scheme by providing practical advice and a tailored shared parental leave policy.
