Employment Appeal Tribunal
This case illustrates various points about compromise agreements.
A council selected a panel of law firms to act as independent advisers to employees on the terms and effect of proposed compromise agreements. The solicitors held group sessions with the employees at which they gave PowerPoint presentations explaining the claims, the effect of the compromise agreements and what would happen if the employees signed but then breached them.
