Where two organizations are held to be jointly and severally liable for the same act of discrimination, the claimant can recover any award from either of them. Ss 1 and 2 of the Civil Liability (Contribution) Act 1978 does not affect liability to the claimant; it only determines whether one organization can recover a contribution from the other.
