Proposal to merger competition functions of OFT and Competition Commission
On 14 October 2010, the Government confirmed that it would be consulting in the New Year on proposals to merger the competition functions of the Office of Fair Trading (OFT) and Competition Commission (CC). The proposals are part of a broader plan to reduce the number of non-departmental (and other) public bodies.
