Mandatory Notification and the Proposals by the Department of Business Innovation and Skills: Is a Hybrid Approach the Way Forward? [2012] Comp Law 132 (June)

The much awaited response from the government on ‘A competition regime for growth: a consultation on options for reform' has now been published and has given rise to further discussion on the current merger regime. The proposal included alternative approaches as regards notification of mergers. The suggestion that we may move to a mandatory regime caused much excitement amongst practitioners.
