Elf Aquitaine off the hook

On 29 September, the ECJ handed down judgments in the appeals by Elf Aquitaine and its former subsidiary Arkema against the Commission decision of January 2009, imposing fines of €45m (jointly and severally) and €13.5m (against Arkema) in connection with the monochloroacetic acid cartel and the General Court’s decision upholding the Commission’s decision.
