Cathode ray tube cartel
On 19 October 2011, the Commission announced that it had settled European Commission announced that it had settled its cartel investigation into cathode ray tubes glass, used in computer and television screens. The cartel involved price coordination between February 1999 and December 2004 amongst Asahi Glass, Nippon Electric, Schott AG and Samsung.
Samsung secured immunity from fines. Asahi was fined €45m, Nippon €43m and Schott €40m, all figures including a 10% reduction under the Settlement Notice.
