Nigel is a solicitor, lecturer, writer and occasional radio broadcaster. He qualified as a solicitor with the city law firm of Field Fisher Martineau (which is now Field Fisher Waterhouse) and spent several years in private practice with firms in both London and Buckinghamshire. In 1991 he joined The College of Law (which is now The University of Law) in London where he held at various times the posts of Branch Head of Media and Entertainment law, Branch Head of Conveyancing and Deputy Branch Head of Advocacy.
In September 1999 he left The College of Law (which is now The University of Law) to establish London Legal Training, write a book called Music: The Law and Music Contracts and to establish Liptons, a specialist niche media and entertainment law firm. Nigel has also written articles for the legal press, is co-author of Privacy and Personality Rights: Commercial Exploitation and Protection (Jordan Publishing) and has considerable broadcasting experience on both national and local radio.
London Legal Training provides both public and in house legal training for solicitors, barristers, accountants and company personnel. Nigel has worked with Robert Deacon and Robert Pinker for a number of years on the London Legal Training annual conferences on Media, Entertainment and Intellectual Property Law and Sports Law.Visit author website
