Kathryn joined New Court as a pupil in October 2014.
Kathryn was called to the Bar in 2012 following successful completion of the BPTC at College of Law. She studied Law with European Legal Studies at King’s College London, which entailed a year studying in Strasbourg. After completing her legal studies Kathryn studied a diploma in Forensic Medical Sciences at the Academy of Forensic Medical Sciences.
Since August 2013 Kathryn has been a trustee of the Dot Com Children’s Foundation and has worked full time helping to expand the charity. The charity aims to enable children to recognise the importance of positive values and empower them to make safe choices throughout their lives.
Prior to working for Dot Com, Kathryn worked at Howard Kennedy FSI in the family department working on all aspects of family law including divorce, financial remedies, pre-nuptial agreements and private law disputes.
Kathryn has volunteered for the NSPCC with the Caring Dads project, which protects children by working with fathers who are violent to their partners. She also worked in the protect and respect project, which supports young people who have been or are at risk of sexual exploitation.
Kathryn has volunteered in the fostering and adoption department of Barnados and has also been a Mackenzie friend through the National Centre of Domestic Violence.
